Women’s History
Video Campaign
Role: Creative Director
Agency: 45th & Dean
Client: History Channel
Women’s History is an editorial and branded series that premiered on History Channel. The educational show is host driven and accompanied by flashy graphics, props, and sets to support the factual information. Collaborating with writer / producer Eryana Hundhausen, I designed, directed, and animated 3 episodes. With support of the History Channel production team, crew, and editors, we built a series that then sold preroll to clients like Venus, Gillette.

Episode 1: Hispanic Heroines
Physical ‘Canvas’
Through several design iterations, I worked with an art director and DP to build a set of ‘canvases’ to display and composite information onto. These set’s allowed us to display archival imagery, maps, documents, and video in a unique manner. With the physical objects we created batch library of assets utilized and tailored for each episode. These “canvasses” consisted of blank TV’s, Books, Photo Albums, Photo Frames, Shelves, Desks and were re-designed to fit into the aesthetic.
Episode 3: Suffrage Facts
Custom Props & Objects
In addition to the sets and blank canvases, we curated and designed objects to represent individual moments and figures in women’s history. Worked closely with the art director to direct and ideate different props that support key moments and also fit within the overall aesthetic of the piece.
Episode 2: Boss Women
Animation & Compositing
After shooting the Set, Props, and Hosts, a whimsical digital video environment was created by incorporating experimental animation as transitional elements. In post, animated archival photos, written dates, names, and facts to the video footage brought the objects to life.
